The Alphabet Island Phonics Teacher’s Manuals include step-by-step instructions for teaching both Alphabet Island Phonics Level 1 and Level 2.
This workbook reinforces the lessons taught in the Alphabet Island Teacher’s Manual. The first half of the workbook introduces how to hear, see, say and print each lower case letter. The second half teaches how spell 230 three-letter short-vowel words, read 30 sight words, read sentences for comprehension, and print each upper case letter.
The 2A workbook, primarily 1st grade, deals with all the things that happen with consonants—beginning blends, ending blend, digraphs, spelling changes at ends of words, as well as two rules for silent ‘e’.
The 2B workbook, for 2nd and 3rd grade, covers all the things that happen with vowels—all the ways to spell a long ‘i’, ‘e’, ‘a’, when to double or not when adding a suffix, diphthongs, homonyms, and how ‘r’ affects the vowel.
